Independence Day Message

While I wish Nigeria and Nigerians-on the homeland and in the Diaspora-a happy Independence Day, I still weep for my dear Country. In 2008 when I attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, I was one of the few participants who posited that vision 20/2020 ( Nigeria’s wishful vision to become one of the top 20 economies by the year 2020) initiated by President Obasanjo was not achievable, given the fact that there was no underlying blueprint or roadmap to achieve such feat. How can we achieve such feat in a country where the anti-graft agency saddled with the responsibility to fight corruption has failed to remit N1.993 Trillion Naira in recoveries to the Nigerian economy based on evidence in my possession; how can we achieve such feat in a country without a national airline carrier?

A country in which I, the undersigned, uncovered a shameful conspiracy between aviation ministry and ICRC before FEC suspended the Nigeria Air deal. Dear Nigerians, the Governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, is Canadian not British-he was chosen because of his stellar performance at Goldman Sachs and Bank of Canada. Until meritocracy is practiced, I am sorry to submit that Nigeria, which is presently on the precipice, will never achieve such feat.
